Lamp Fabrication 

Fabricated using sheets of cork

A digital fabrication exercise where the theme was to use any one material and fabricate a 2 meter long lamp from sheets of that material. Here , the material used was Cork sheets. After various experiments on different thickness of cork sheet , we tried various joints where the form of the cork sheet could be easily bought together or dismanteled as required without external binding material or agents. A certain bone structure concept was then designed with fit joints which assemble easily by fitting into the groves. Each view of the lamp envisages a different shape. The drawings were made using softwares like rhino and grasshopper. the drawings were then taken to the milling machine . once the machines gave us shapes, cork was sanded to smoothly fit into each other.
