Torre Barro District, Barcelona
Sustainable Parasite architecture
Torre Baro energy district in Barcelona is an area where it grew to be a place where a lot of immigrants came and started building their own houses. Located in a hilly area, this project looked at creating local solutions by using the waste coming from the houses in the site. The waste produced by houses was proposed to be turned into soil by bio waste eating worms which excreate soil after. This soil, after study, proved to produce more electricity when its put in a circuit as apposed to the circuit made with normal soil. This electricity , thus generated could be used as street lights. The forms of these parasite architecture were then designed to connect the Balconies to the street where this parasite would be placed , turn bio waste to soil and produce energy for street lighting making, the streets safer.
